Lexus shows off the future IS replacement code named LF-CC, it is a new concept car that will become the 3rd generation Lexus IS which has currently been on sale in its current form since 2005. The LF-CC features the redesigned styling cues that have been adopted by the rest of the Lexus brand. It features the latest version of the brand’s L-finesse design language and a massive spindle grille, taking overall cues from the wild LF-LC and adapting them to a more realistic package. In a statement the automaker says the car is a look not just at the next generation IS models, but also at a new coupe for the brand – something Lexus desperately needs to compete with the likes of the Mercedes C-Class and BMW 3 Series.

will unveil the LF-CC concept, a mid-sized hybrid coupe, at the Paris motor show later this week. It’s said to influence the design and technology that will go into future Lexus models – hinting at a coupe version of the next generation IS model.

Power comes from a new 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which is bolstered by a development of the company’s hybrid drive system. The engine is tuned for refinement and economy rather than performance, and Lexus says the car should be capable of less than 100g/km of CO2.
2014 Lexus LF-CC Concept Car – Side Profile
The hybrid system combines a compact high-output electric motor, generator, and a high-performance battery. Power output has not been confirmed, but Lexus says that the car will produce 2bhp per gram of CO2, which puts it at about 200bhp.
