GM kept the C7 Corvette Stingray coupe under wraps about as well as any manufacturer could ever hope for. If not for the unfortunate leak of, ahem, some unnamed magazine’s cover, it would have been a complete success. That doesn’t appear to be the case with the C7 convertible.
We don’t know much about these images other than they came from The Auto Insider, who says the topless C7 “is no render.” Given the source we’re tempted to believe him. There’s also the GM Design Center license plate, a weird touch for a render.
Anyway, the Corvette Stingray Convertible is basically identical to the model presented in Detroit, but the drop top has a few design tweaks. Under the hood we probably see the same 6.2 liter V8 engine as the hard top that can deliver 450 HP.
