The video was produced by BFGoodrich and just surfaced yesterday however the race and record were set back on June 26th. Subaru Rally Team driver David Higgins only needed 6 minutes and 11 seconds to beating Travis Pastrana unofficial time of 6:20 that he set last year. David also handily beat the official record that was set in 1998 by Frank Sprongl’s which was 6:41.
This is truly a historic event with the first race happening in 1904 and the fast run up to the top was 24 minutes and 37 seconds. I was blown away by the extreme shift in weather along length of the course. The drivers seem to start on dry pavement however by the time they reach the finish line they are truly driving inside a cloud.
