Alfa Romeo 4C Concept Video

This week a new teaser video was released showcasing the 4C Concept car which was the star of the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.  The Alfa Romeo 4C Concept appears to have been considered for a production run and Alfa has turned on its PR Machine.  The new teaser video for the car skips all of the obvious boring details and lets you dive a little bit deeper under the cars skin.  Which is nice because we all have eyes and we all should know that it is a very attractive automobile.

So now just what is under the skin of that car, what is going to make it so special to drive?  Well they have stated that the 4C concept car has an all carbon fiber chassis.  It will be powered by a 200 hp 1.8-liter turbo inline 4 engine that should get the car running a 0-100 km/h in around the 5 second mark.  The engine will be mounted in the middle of the car to better balance the cars weight and the power will only be sent to the rear wheels.  The car will be joining the twin clutch club but there has been no mention of the number of gears it will use, if I was a betting man I would go with 6.  All and all the car will have a very impressive power to weight number which is 4 kg/hp, and would explain why Alfa is so confident that it will complete the acceleration test in about the 5 second mark.

All of us at Car Rolodex have our fingers crossed that the 4C will come to North America and we think that it stands a pretty good chance of making over to this side of the pond.  Think about it wouldn’t the 4C be the perfect car to help re-launch the Alfa Romeo brand in North America.  Our vote is yes!
